Hard Drive Found In Epstein’s NYC Home Details Romantic Relationship With Ghislaine Maxwell: Testimony

A hard drive seized from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s Upper East Side townhouse contained a file detailing the relationship between Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, according to testimony at the British socialite’s trial. Maxwell has been accused of grooming multiple girls to be sexually abused by Epstein.

Testifying in Maxwell’s criminal trial in the Southern District of New York, FBI analyst Stephen Flatley told the court that the FBI found the hard drive during a raid on Epstein’s Manhattan home in 2019. On the hard drive, they had discovered a file on the computer, created on October 14, 2002, by a user called “GMax.”  The file contained a document that pointed to a romantic relationship between Epstein and Maxwell.

“Jeffrey and Ghislaine have been together as a couple for the last 11 years,” the note began, according to the analyst. “They are, contrary to what people think, rarely apart, I almost always see them together.”

“Jeffrey and Ghislaine share many mutual interests and they have a lot of fun together,” the document continued, with the author adding that Epstein and Maxwell “compliment each other really well” and describing them as “thick as thieves,” the New York Post reported.

“On top of being partner’s [sic] they are also best of friends,” the document added.

The document went on further to describe Maxwell as “highly intelligent and great company with a ready smile and an infectious laugh,” and that she put people around her at ease.

Another FBI analyst, Kimberly Mader, also testified Tuesday that CDs were found in several rooms in Epstein’s townhouse. Many of the photos contained on the CDs were of Epstein and Maxwell together, with one photo showing Maxwell wearing a revealing outfit and massaging his feet while onboard an airplane. A photo of Epstein and Maxwell kissing, which had been found at Epstein’s Palm Beach home during a 2005 raid, was also shown.

The author of the notes or their purpose was not clear, the Post reported.

Mader’s testimony Tuesday continued where she had left off Monday, having begun testimony at the end of the day. The Daily Wire reported Monday that Mader and FBI Special Agent Kelly Maguire both testified about the 2019 raid:

Late in the afternoon, FBI Special Agent Kelly Maguire testified about the July 2019 search warrant she executed at Epstein’s 8-floor, 40-room Upper East Side townhouse. FBI photos showed the glamour of a grand staircase as well as the more sordid image of Epstein’s own massage room.

Among the items found were binders full of compact discs, some in a fifth floor closet, some in a safe in a third floor dressing room. The warrant didn’t cover the CDs so Maguire testified that she obtained a new warrant and came back days later, only to find the items from the safe missing. They were soon returned by one of Epstein’s attorneys.

With only 12 minutes to go before Judge Alison Nathan’s fairly strict 5 pm finish time, FBI analyst Kimberly Mader took the stand. Mader was one of the people responsible for analyzing the CDs, some of which were stored with printed thumbnails, presumably of the images on the discs.

There was only time for her to describe one of the images, a photo of Maxwell and Epstein. That is when the clock ran out and the jury was dismissed for the night.

Maxwell is charged with six counts, including transporting minors to engage in criminal sexual activity. She faces a maximum sentence of 70 years.
