Greg Gutfeld: MSNBC Is ‘Terrified’ That If They Fire Joy Reid She’ll Call Them ‘Racists’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said Wednesday that MSNBC’s Joy Reid had the network too “terrified” to ever fire her.

Gutfeld told his co-hosts on popular panel show “The Five” that Reid’s “scam” was to call everyone around her “racist” — and that she had executed her plan so well that MSNBC was probably too scared to let her go because she would call them racists, too.

The conversation began with Reid’s comments about billionaire Elon Musk and his recent move to acquire Twitter — and her suggestion that the entrepreneur wanted to wield apartheid-like power over the platform because he “misses the old South Africa in the 80s.”

“Twitter is not the government; Twitter is a private company that can say, no, you’re not allowed to be a Nazi on Twitter,” Reid said, later adding, “Elon Musk, I guess he misses the old South Africa in the 80s. He wants that back.”

“They want to come in and be able to punch people in the face and walk around and laugh about it and then not have anyone be able to stop them,” she continued, noting that a number of conservatives were in favor of Musk buying Twitter. “The enjoyment they get out of being in this ‘town square’ is being able to harass people, being able to attack people.”

Gutfeld responded on Twitter, saying, “the ghouls saying Musk is pro-hate speech, always fling the hate first. lesson: they can call you an evil racist; but fight back? thats labeled hate speech. How joy reid remains employed is a tribute to her boss’s cowardice.”

He responded to the story again on “The Five,” saying, “I can’t love a story more than this story. It’s like we got a free election result, in which we won and we get to see all the people who dislike us … break down in public. It really is like 2016, except instead of Trump winning, the First Amendment won.”

Gutfeld went on to say that in Reid’s particular case, she had built-in protection for herself to continue to say whatever she wanted.

“Joy Reid has built a foolproof career insurance plan. She has MSNBC so terrified that they can’t fire her because she’s just gonna call them racist, too. She calls everybody racist, and that’s her game, and that’s her scam,” he said. “And the MSNBC management are cowards for letting her do this, but that’s what they chose to do.”

Reid recently also argued that Americans only cared about the Russian soldiers allegedly committing war crimes in Ukraine because they were “white and Christian.”
