What happened?Associated Press issues new style recommendations to encourage diversity and inclusion. “general and often dehumanizing ‘the’ labels such as the poor, the mentally ill, the French, the disabled, the college-educated.”

What we are doing about it: Revising some important quotes and texts from American history, according to these new guidelines by an affiliated group of individuals experiencing journalism and impacted collectively as “The Associated Press.”
We couldn’t choose not to. Failing to update these documents using the most up-to-date advancements in the field of inclusive language would be the moral equivalent of violence. Enjoy!
