Gov. DeSantis: “No Way” Florida Will Support WHO Global Pandemic Treaty

As if they didn’t have enough influence, the World Health Organization wants a “pandemic treaty” among nations – and Joe Biden is backing it.

On paper, the treaty would set the standards for all signatories to have the ability to detect, assess, report, and respond to public health events. In practice, the WHO is given a massive increase in power and funding, and much authority for pandemic control risks being lost by nations themselves and transferred to WHO.

Biden first publicly voiced support for an international agreement on future pandemic preparedness in November of last year.

Thus far Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been publicly leading the charge against it at the state level, stating at a recent press conference that there’s no way his state would be supporting the treaty.

“We in Florida, there is no way we will ever support this WHO thing … that’s not going to happen. No way.”

“You saw a lot of these elites advocate very pernicious policies” he added, making note of the fact that “part of the reason people want to move here is because we rejected those policies, but they advocated very pernicious policies, including locking kids out of school.”

At the federal level, Senators Marco Rubio and Rep. Ronny Johnson have both voiced opposition to the treaty.

The media is already branding all concerns and criticism of the pandemic treaty as “conspiracy theories,” and we all know how that played out last time.
