A group of House Republicans set their sights on the Federal Trade Commission, saying it’s in the middle of trying to expand its authority in a partisan matter. According to the Washington Examiner on Wednesday, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), James Comer (R-Ky.) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) sent a letter to the FTC commissioners regarding their recent actions.

Reports said that during the first meeting under new FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan, Democrat commissioners voted to expand the limits and powers of the agency. The move saw no Republican support.

“These partisan changes will position the Biden FTC to reshape radically the American economy and, ultimately, harm American consumers, workers, small businesses and traditions of free enterprise,” wrote the lawmakers.

Meanwhile, Republican FTC commissioners told Congress this week that Democrats in the agency are assuming too much power and moving too quickly with little debate.
