GOP hopeful removes ‘Pro-Trump’ mention from campaign slogan
Former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher has modified his campaign slogan too remove any reference to President Donald Trump. Previously, Hatcher ran as a “Pro-Trump” candidate and succeeded in unseating incumbent Rep. Andy Ogles in the Tennessee primary. Despite Ogles holding Trump’s endorsement during the primary, Trump endorsed Hatcher afterward, calling him a “Great ‘Trump’ Candidate.”
EXCLUSIVE — Former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher has changed his campaign slogan to remove a reference to President Donald Trump.
Hatcher, who ousted incumbent Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) in Tennessee’s August primary, ran as a “Pro-Trump” candidate, even as Ogles held Trump’s endorsement in the primary. Trump quickly got behind Hatcher following his primary victory, calling him a “Great ‘Trump’ Candidate.”
