‘God Please Save Us’: Olympic Gymnast Was Across The Street When Nashville Shooting Started

Shawn Johnson East, an Olympic gymnast, took to Instagram to express her emotions following the school shooting that occurred in Nashville on Monday. She offered her prayers to the victims and their families, stating that she would continue to pray even though it will not undo the tragic incident.

Johnson was filming across the street from The Covenant School when the shooting occurred. She won a gold medal on balance beam and team silver in 2008, among other medals in the floor exercise and all-around.

The post on Instagram showed the first names of the six people who lost their lives in the deadly attack. Shawn Johnson also talked about her thoughts as the situation unfolded, mentioning the chaos that ensued and the lockdown of other schools in the area. She conveyed her fear, sadness and guilt for being safe while others were not, and prayed for God to save the world from this evil.
