‘Global blackness’ scholar charged with antisemitic death threats
A Pennsylvania-based religion professor and campus activist was arrested after allegedly posting online threats of violence directed at a Jewish womanS family. Guangtian Ha, a 42-year-old associate professor at Haverford College whose research focuses on topics like “global blackness” and “the gender of sound,” was linked by the FBI to social media posts advocating for a second Holocaust and doxing the victim’s residence. He is currently detained in Pennsylvania on charges of harassment and intimidation that caused fear of death or injury.

Haverford College professor Guangtian Ha’s career studying topics such as “global blackness” and “the gender of sound” was interrupted when the FBI tied him to social media posts advocating a second Holocaust and doxing the victim’s residence, court records show. The 42-year-old scholar, affiliated with Faculty for Justice in Palestine as of 2024, is now in a Pennsylvania detention site on a charge of harassment and intimidation causing fear of death or injury.
