Gaines criticizes AOC for spreading fear about invasive sports exams, calling her uninformed

Riley‍ Gaines Slams AOC for “Uninformed” and⁤ “Fearmongering” Remarks on Women’s Sports

Riley Gaines, a former championship swimmer-turned-women’s sports advocate, strongly criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for her recent comments attempting to deter bans on ‍biological men participating in women’s sports. Gaines appeared⁣ on ⁣Outkick the Morning to express ⁣her disagreement with Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks, calling them “incredibly uninformed.”

During a House Oversight subcommittee hearing on the “Importance of Protecting Female ⁢Athletics and Title IX,” Ocasio-Cortez criticized “hearings of men attempting to‍ restrict the rights ⁢of women⁤ and telling us it is for⁣ our own‍ good.” She specifically referenced an Ohio bill ‍that proposed banning biological men from women’s sports and ⁢raised concerns about potential invasive exams to determine eligibility.

“We are talking about opening up all women and⁢ girls to genital examinations when they are underage, potentially just because someone can point to someone and say, ‘I don’t think you ⁢are⁣ a ‌girl,'” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Gaines ⁣refuted Ocasio-Cortez’s‌ claims, emphasizing⁤ that no state ‌requires genital inspections for female athletes. She explained that routine physicals, which all athletes, including ⁢herself, have ⁤undergone throughout‍ their lives, are ⁣standard practice. Some states may check birth certificates or use cheek⁤ swabs, but there are no genital inspections.

“Actually, the ‍people who had ‍their genitals inspected were the females in that locker room ‌who had a⁤ man in our⁤ locker room,” Gaines added. “But that doesn’t matter⁢ to ⁣AOC or any ⁤of the ‌other Democratic members‍ in ⁣the U.S. House, in the Senate, or the Biden administration. So, yes, I certainly agree that was entirely fearmongering.⁣ That’s absolutely what that was.”

Gaines, who⁢ hosts Gaines for‌ Girls, believes that women should ⁢be encouraged to stand against the participation ⁢of biological males ⁢in‌ women’s sports and choose not to compete. To support this, she⁢ is offering to pay the prize money⁢ that these women would have had the chance to win.

“I think it’s time,” Gaines said. “The Left, as they incentivize this idea of men competing in women’s ⁢sports… we need to ⁢start incentivizing on our side for women to stop participating in the farce. They need to ‍be ‌told they are worthy. ⁤They need to be told that they deserve fair competition.”

Gaines concluded ‍by stating her belief that offering ⁤financial incentives ⁤is a way to achieve this goal.

How does Riley‍ Gaines argue that the comments made by Ocasio-Cortez attempt to ‍create fear ‍and paranoia around trans women‍ in women’s sports?

Orts, stating ‍that it was an attempt to “create fear and paranoia around trans women.”

In response, Gaines argued that Ocasio-Cortez’s comments were not only‍ uninformed but also⁢ promoted fearmongering. As a ⁣former swimmer⁤ who has ⁤personally experienced the ‌importance of fair competition in ⁤women’s sports, Gaines ⁣believes that it is crucial to protect the integrity of women’s ⁣athletics.

Gaines highlighted the biological advantages that ‌males possess, especially in terms of physical strength and size. ‌She ‍emphasized⁤ that these ‌advantages cannot be ignored, as they significantly influence the⁣ outcome of sporting⁤ events. Allowing biological men to compete against women, Gaines argued, would undermine the purpose of women’s sports, which ‍is to provide a ‍level playing field for female athletes.

Furthermore, Gaines expressed concerns about ⁤the potential safety risks associated with biological men‍ competing in women’s sports.⁢ She cited⁤ instances⁢ where transgender athletes ⁢have dominated women’s events, leading to the exclusion ⁤and discouragement of female athletes from pursuing their dreams. Gaines asserted that protecting women’s sports is not about ⁢discrimination but about‌ ensuring a fair and safe environment ⁢for‍ all female athletes.

Gaines ⁢also criticized Ocasio-Cortez for dismissing the genuine concerns raised ‍by women who‌ fear‌ losing opportunities and scholarships due to the‍ inclusion of‍ biological ‍men in their sports categories. She argued that these concerns should not be brushed aside but earnestly addressed. Gaines ‍insisted that it is⁣ possible to support transgender rights while also safeguarding the integrity of women’s sports.

In conclusion, Riley ‍Gaines firmly condemned Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s comments on women’s sports as “uninformed” and “fearmongering.” As a passionate advocate for women’s athletics, Gaines believes that it is crucial to protect the integrity and ⁤fairness of women’s sports by implementing policies that address the inherent biological advantages of males. She ⁢called for a thoughtful and nuanced approach that prioritizes both transgender rights and the rights of female athletes. By engaging in informed discussions and considering all perspectives, Gaines believes that it is possible‍ to find a solution that respects and ⁢supports all‍ athletes involved.
