Gaetz claims DeSantis missed opportunity to defend Trump over indictment

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) missed his chance to defend former President Donald Trump as a possible indictment looms.

Gaetz referred to the possible felony charge against Trump as a” criminal in carry” and claimed that it was really” parading around in the act of committing the crime.”

Gaetz told the Floridian that the governor really has a role to play in determining whether the cost is sufficient when someone is requested to be extradited.

Is there really a misdemeanor charge against somebody? The legal standard is that. This isn’t a criminal request, in my opinion. It is a pull offense. The chancellor dislikes pull shows, so perhaps we don’t consider parading around in pull as a felony? He continued,” I believe he can do more, and I believe this was a lost opportunity.

DeSantis should be prepared to halt the former president’s abduction, according to Gaetz.

” If I were the governor of Florida, I would not permit any Floridian to be brought before a Soros-backed counsel in the middle of the night over elections. Gaetz declared,” I have made an exception to neither defend the president of the United States.”

In order to prevent any sort of abduction of President Trump from the state of Florida, Ron DeSantis may be standing in the rift. Every Floridian who could be the target of a false allegation is put at risk by the fact that he isn’t doing now, the man continued.

Gaetz stated on Friday that if the former president is detained in connection with alleged hush cash payments to movie star Stormy Daniels in 2016, he will be politically more powerful. This year, a grand jury was scheduled to vote on Trump’s potential prosecution, but the hearings were postponed and the judge turned its attention to other cases.

Gaetz acknowledged,” Socially, I think it will strengthen Trump.” Trump occasionally has the ability to display some of the worse aspects of our government that require transformation when he is under pressure.

Gaetz added that he worries that Trump’s possible indictment would undermine the United States'” moral authority” around the globe. It would be the first occasion a former president of the United States had been charged.

As the Republican Party gets ready for the 2024 presidential vote, Gaetz makes his remarks. DeSantis is thought to be Trump’s only formidable Democratic nominee contender. DeSantis hasn’t already made a White House bid, though. In the summer, a final choice on his nomination is anticipated.
