Nonbinary ex-Biden official Sam Brinton arrested at home as fugitive.

Baggage Thief and Former Federal Official Arrested Again

Sam Brinton, the “Genderfluid” Thief

Sam Brinton, a former federal official and self-proclaimed “genderfluid” individual, has been arrested once again for baggage theft. This time, Brinton was taken into custody in Montgomery County, Maryland, as a “fugitive from justice” in connection with a third baggage theft.

Brinton made history last year as the first nonbinary federal official to face felony charges for stealing women’s suitcases from airports in Minnesota and Nevada. Despite this, Brinton continued to receive a six-figure, taxpayer-funded salary and benefits for over a month after the first arrest in November. Brinton was eventually dismissed from federal service in December.

Previous Cases and Narrow Escapes

In April, Brinton narrowly escaped jail time in two separate baggage theft cases. Brinton was ordered to pay $3,671 to a woman whose suitcase was stolen in July 2022 from the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Additionally, a Minnesota court ordered Brinton to undergo a mental health evaluation, enter an adult diversion program, and write a letter of apology to another woman whose bag was stolen from the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport in September 2022.

Additional Allegations

Asya Khamsin, a Houston fashion designer, has also accused Brinton of stealing her luggage. Khamsin posted pictures on Twitter showing Brinton wearing her custom outfit and jewelry that she lost from the bag, which was never recovered.

Brinton, who identifies as “nonbinary” and uses they/them pronouns, remains in custody in Rockville, Maryland. He is set to appear for a hearing in court Thursday afternoon.
