According to city officials, members of the Boston Fire Department made the grim discovery while responding to an emergency call. The apartment on Old Colony Avenue was filled with a disturbing array of “alcohol, drugs, and sex toys.”
Unsanitary Conditions and Disturbing Details
Upon arrival, fire officials found an adult in cardiac arrest and immediately began performing CPR. Tragically, the transgender individual succumbed to an apparent overdose.
Inside the apartment, several men were reportedly dressed as women, adding to the unsettling atmosphere. The children, hidden in a back room, were discovered by firefighters. One man, claiming to be the father and wearing a wig, was present.
An incident report described the scene as extremely unsanitary, with the apartment in deplorable conditions. The report stated that six adults, appearing to be males, were present. Firefighters from Ladder 18 found four children, aged 5-10, being concealed by an adult male.
All adults present were uncooperative and denied the presence of children in the apartment, according to the report.
Community Response and Protective Measures
State Senator Nick Collins, representing South Boston, praised the first responders for their actions. He emphasized the importance of protecting children from such horrific circumstances.
The Department of Children and Families has taken the children into protective custody, ensuring their safety. However, no arrests have been confirmed at this time.
