Ex-Pedophile Advocate Critiques ‘Sound Of Freedom’ in Bloomberg Article

A Controversial ‌Take on the ⁤Film⁢ “Sound ⁣of Freedom”

A ⁢former spokesman⁤ for ⁢the ⁢pedophile advocacy group⁣ Prostasia wrote a hit piece ⁢in ‍Bloomberg against the new⁤ anti-child⁤ trafficking film ⁢“Sound of Freedom.”

Noah Berlatsky⁤ served in‍ 2021 as communications director ⁣for Prostasia, a group that calls itself “a new kind of child protection organization,” but works to ‍remove the stigma surrounding “MAPs” or ⁤“minor-attracted people.”

On ⁣Saturday,‌ Bloomberg published an⁢ opinion article ⁤authored‌ by Berlatsky, ⁤titled ‍“QAnon and ‘Sound of ‌Freedom’ Both Rely on Tired⁣ Hollywood Tropes.”⁤ The ‍article was reprinted‍ by The Washington Post.

In the article, Berlatsky, who ⁢is also a former⁤ NBC contributor, bashed ‍“Sound of ⁢Freedom,” which has⁣ been hailed by conservatives since it premiered last month. The film ‌is about a ‍federal agent who saves a sister and brother‍ from child‌ trafficking and is ‍based on⁤ a ⁣true story. ⁤The ‌movie stars Jim Caviezel and ‍was⁤ produced

by⁤ the⁣ same studio ‍that made the⁤ faith-based series “The Chosen.”

Berlatsky claimed the film⁤ has been ‍“embraced by the far ⁣right and Christians,” who he complains ‍have‌ “helped boost it to more ‌than⁤ $50 million in ⁣receipts‌ at the‍ box office.”

Berlatsky⁢ also⁤ claimed ‌“Sound of Freedom” is linked to⁢ the conspiracy theory ⁤QAnon.‍ The‌ movie’s ⁤creator ⁤recently called allegations that the movie‍ has ⁢a QAnon connection⁣ “sick,” and Caviezel, the⁢ film’s‌ star, said he was unaware of the conspiracy in 2018 ‌when the movie⁢ was filmed.

“But the truth is that the conspiratorial right and‌ the Hollywood default ⁢aren’t that different — ⁢which is why, perhaps, our polity has had such difficulty⁣ rejecting‌ QAnon,⁢ Trump ⁤and fascism,”‌ Berlatsky wrote.

Critics have accused⁤ Prostasia, ⁣the pedophile advocacy group, for ⁢years of⁣ trying‌ to normalize pedophilia behind‍ a thin smoke ‍screen of⁢ “child protection.”

The group’s blog posts have mentioned “kink” and “child protection” ⁢in the ⁢same breath. Prostasia has also‌ argued‍ against criminalizing fantasy child pornography ⁣and in ‌favor‍ of keeping child‍ sex dolls‍ legal.

Besides his⁣ stint ⁣as communications director for Prostasia, Berlatsky has ⁤a ‌long ⁣social media history ‌of‍ defending pedophiles.

“Pedophiles‍ are⁤ essentially a stigmatized group. ‍Certain ⁣people get designated as deviants,⁤ people hate‍ them,” ‍Berlatsky tweeted in⁤ February, 2017, according to a‌ screenshot.

“The issue isn’t that people care ⁤about ‌the ⁢victims. The issue is‍ that pedophiles are ‍loathed,” Berlatsky tweeted the ‍same⁣ day‍ in 2017.

Berlatsky ‌has also attacked the relationship ‍between parents ‌and ‍their ⁢children.

“Parents are‍ tyrants. ‘parent’ is an oppressive ⁢class, like rich⁤ people‌ or white
people,” Berlatsky tweeted in December 2020.

“There ⁢are things you can ⁢do to try to minimize the abuse ⁤that’s⁤ endemic to the⁢ parent/child ⁢relationship, but it’s always there,” he added.

Meanwhile, gender ideology plays‌ a large ⁤role in ‌Berlatsky’s family. He has been vocal about⁤ supporting ⁢his trans-identifying son, who‍ now‌ identifies as a girl.

In ⁣February, ‍Berlatsky wrote an article for Insider, ‍titled “My wife is bisexual and nonbinary, and my daughter is transgender.⁢ My queer ⁣family ‍helped me better understand myself ⁣and ‌my masculinity.”

Berlatsky’s‍ Twitter account, ‍which has more than⁣ 21,000 followers, is currently locked in ‌private ⁤mode.
