Garvey, a Republican, could have a leg up in the race thanks to his name recognition and popularity in California. His consultant and Republican strategist Andy Gharakhani confirmed the news in a text message, saying, “He is seriously considering entering the race. He’s concerned about the same issues facing all Californians, out of control cost-of-living and high taxes, rising crime and lack of opportunities.”

“He is seriously considering entering the race,” Gharakhani said. “He’s concerned about the same issues facing all Californians, out of control cost-of-living and high taxes, rising crime and lack of opportunities.”

Garvey has toyed with the idea of running for Senate in the past, but this time it seems like he might actually go for it. Three House Democrats are already in the race for the seat, including Adam Schiff, Katie Porter, and Barbara Lee.
