Former Child Star Placed On Psychiatric Hold After Wandering L.A. Streets Naked: Report

Amanda Bynes, a former child actress, was reportedly hospitalized for a mental health evaluation after being found wandering naked on the streets of Los Angeles. The 36-year-old flagged down a passing motorist early Sunday morning and told them she was having a psychotic episode, according to TMZ. She was then taken into custody and placed on a psychiatric hold by a mental health team.

In the past, Bynes has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has been placed under a conservatorship that was terminated in March 2022. Her attorney stated that Bynes was doing well, felt her condition had improved, and was excited to live independently.

Unfortunately, Bynes missed her first public appearance since ending her conservatorship at a popular convention due to an unspecified illness. The actress, best known for her role in the Nickelodeon show “All That,” has also appeared in several films, including “Hairspray” and “Easy A.” In a 2018 interview with Paper magazine, she apologized for how she treated people during her addiction struggles and expressed regret for her behavior.
