Flu Shots: What’s Approved, What’s Coming, Part 1

Before we start today, I must clarify my position regarding viruses.

A movement exists to discredit the existence of viruses. It is likely that this debate will continue for many years before it is resolved. **That battle is not my fight,** and I won’t engage in that discussion/debate on this page. I am reviewing and writing here about what is the generally accepted influenza viruses and flu shot – and I am writing about the foibles of both.

A virus is an infectious microbe composed of a portion of nucleic acid (either RNA or DNA) enclosed by a protein layer. While a virus cannot be considered a living organism it can make copies of its self that can be passed to other hosts. Its ability to multiply gives the illusion that a virus can be replicated. ‘alive.’ To replicate, it must invade a living cell and use components of the host’s cells to make copies of itself. It can be bacteria, plants, fungi, or any other living thing. There are only a few viruses that can infect humans. Since 1977, human infection has been caused by only a few influenza viruses, H1N1, and H3N2, specifically H1N1.

The National Library of Sciences has an extensive classification system called The Taxonomy Database. It is a curated list of all organisms found in public sequence databases. This collection only represents about 10% of all the species of life known to exist on Earth, they admit. This extensive list of viruses can be found here this link. Search the taxonomy search browsers for coronaviruses There are thousands upon thousands of viruses.

You can easily find thousands of antigenically distinct influenza A viruses by looking through taxonomy databases. There are hundreds of subtypes available for every influenza virus. This is more than a scientific curiosity. flu shots. As stated in 2001 Nancy Cox, PhD, Chief Influenza Branch, National Center for Infectious Diseases at the CDC “If we don’t get a good match, the vaccine will be less effective, producing illness, hospitalizations and death.”

How can those who claim the importance of getting a vaccine for protection be believed? ‘close match’ You are good enough? If you haven’t read it, now is a good time to skim through that article.

Influenza viruses are identified as three distinct immunogenic types—A, B, and C—and a large number of subtypes. The influenza types C, and B have not yet been found in any other species than humans. Type C viruses can cause mild or severe symptoms, depending on whether they are in the airways. It is therefore of little importance for public health. Type C strains are not included in any influenza vaccine.

Infected nurses have been known to contract influenza B viruses in the past. Since 2001, children younger than 5 years old have been infected with influenza B virus. The highest incidence was in infants under one year of age. In 2004, this campaign was approved. influenza vaccines for children, It will be six months before its release.

Influenza A viruses can infect many species, including large land mammals, sea animals, wild birds, domestic birds, humans, and other birds. Influenza A viruses are also associated with land mammals such as horses and swine, while sea mammals include seals and dolphins.

A virus must be replicated in order for symptoms to occur. Only when a virus bypasses the body’s several layers of immunological protection – the skin, the mucous membranes, and the gut – can it proliferate within humans, triggering the cascade of symptoms we have come to associate with the flu.

Viral replication can be a complicated task. Defects may occur, which could lead to offspring that are not identical to their parents. A small change in the genetic makeup can lead to a permanent one, creating a new generation. ‘antigenically distinct’ This could include strains that are not familiar to the immune system. This is called an ‘antigenic drift,’ accounts for the differences in each year’s influenza viruses. The CDC profited from this drift and used it to justify the production each year of a new flu shot.

Another process widely known for creating a new, antigenically different virus is the “anonymous” method. ‘antigenic shift.’ This is known as reassortment. It occurs through an intermediary animal.

It’s an annual guessing game.

In a 2015 interview, Dr. Robert Daum, a Chicago physician who headed the VRBPAC at the time, stated, “It’s very, very frustrating and a very inexact science. . . . We do it with varying luck, and I think the luck is mostly the virus’s whim.”

After the annual strains, called the seed viruses, are selected, they are tested for their ability to grow in eggs. If one of the seed viruses propagates poorly, it is mixed with a stock influenza virus It is well-known for its growth in eggs. Each influenza A virus contains eight distinct genes. The combination of the stock virus and seed virus can result in a new strain. up to 256 There are new viruses. Researchers are then tasked with identifying which of these 256 recombinants has an (H) antigen on its surface that matches the circulating viruses AND contains the internal genes from the egg-growing virus. The manufacturers then send the hybrids selected for further processing.

Once the hybrid virus is selected, it is placed into the membranes infected eggs. The slurry of the virus is removed and centrifuged to extract as much tissue and blood as possible. This takes place eleven days later. Attenuating chemicals or ultraviolet light is used to weaken the viruses.

Next, chemical stabilizers, purifiers, and sometimes an adjuvant like MF59 are added. Prior to filling the vials with the vaccine solution, the following list of ingredients are added. Different flu shots may contain different amounts or types of particulate material. FluBlok can contain as little as 15 mcg of HA virus surface antigen, while Fluad contains 135 mcg. Unless you read the specific package insert for the specific injection you You or your children are about to receive, you won’t know what’s coming through that needle.

  • Chicken proteins – disgusting chicken stuff in vaccines
  • Chicken DNA
  • Stealth (avian) viruses – retroviruses from the SPF-eggs
  • Antibiotics
  • Chemicals and buffers
  • Triton X-100 – a detergent
  • Hydrocortisone – in the culture medium
  • MSG – in FluMist – this chemical goes up your nose!
  • Polysorbate 80 – can cause infertility; can also cross the blood-brain barrier
  • Sucrose – makes the vaccine more viscous
  • Synthetic Vitamin E – highly inflammatory adjuvant
  • Gelatin – known to cause anaphylaxis
  • Thimerosal – mercury – 25 mcg per dose when given from a multi-dose vial

Each of the ingredients listed above, and there may be others in shots manufactured outside the US, have the potential for causing serious side effects that will be discussed in detail in future releases of this series.

Three attenuated viruses (or weaker) were present in influenza shots historically: two types of influenza A, and one type influenza B. FluMist was FDA-approved as the first quadrivalent flu vaccine. It contained two strains (A and B) and is now FDA-approved.

As a marketing tool ‘needle-free’ Flu shot option: The solution contains four non-attenuated live viruses. You simply need to squirt it up your nose with a needle.

FluMist has only been marginally effective. The product has been in and out of the market several times. Most recently it was taken off the market in 2018. However, it has worked once.again been recommended Because Dr. Grace Lee is a Stanford University School professor of Pediatrics. “It’s better than nothing.”

Really…? Something that doesn’t work is better than nothing..? Hmmm.
