Florida Surgeon General Issues Health Alert on mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine Safety

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo sent a letter stating that there has been an increase of 4,400% in the number of Florida residents reporting life-threatening conditions since the implementation of the mRNA COVID-19 shots.

Highlights of the Letter

• After previous federal mass vaccination efforts, Florida has not seen such a response.
• The number of reports has increased by 1,700 percent since the COVID-19 vaccine(s) was released. This compares to a 400% increase in vaccine administration over the same period.
• Reports of life-threatening conditions rose by 4,400%
• Recent research has shown that vaccines mRNA COVID-19 were associated with serious adverse events including coagulation disorders (acute cardiac injuries), Bell’s palsy and encephalitis. This is a high risk.

The COVID-19 epidemic brought new challenges to the medical and healthcare fields. The initial response was driven by urgency and crisis management. However, the State Surgeon General believes that public health professionals must adapt to the current to chart a future based on data.

The State Surgeon General has notified the health sector and the public about a significant increase in Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System reports (VAERS), from Florida, following the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

The VAERS reported by Florida showed a 1,700% increase in reports following the COVID-19 vaccine release, as compared with a 400% increase in overall vaccine administration (Figure 1).

Over 4,400% more people reported life-threatening illnesses. This is an unusual increase, and it was not seen in the 2009 H1N1 vaccination campaigns. Additional independent research is required to understand the COVID-19 vaccinations’ long- and short-term effects.

The Florida findings match other studies that continue to reveal such risks. The Surgeon General sent a letter to both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), highlighting the risks associated with the mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations and urging for more transparency.

Additionally, Dag Berild J et al, JAMA Netw Open. 2022 We evaluated the risk of thromboembolic events and thrombocytopenic episodes related to COVID-19 vaccinations and found preliminary evidence that there was an increase in both cardiovascular disease risk and coronary diseases.

The CDC has found safety signs for stroke in individuals aged 65 and over following bivalent booster administration. However, additional research and assessments are needed regarding the safety of all mRNA-COVID-19 vaccines.

Florida reminds health-care providers that they must accurately disclose to patients the risks of all clinical interventions, including the COVID-19 vaccination, to ensure transparency.
