Shooting Incident in Spring Hill, Florida

Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies ​rushed ⁤to a residence on Marquette Street in Spring Hill, Florida, just before 5 ‍a.m. ‌on ⁣Oct. 11 following reports ⁢of‍ a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered two adult victims with gunshot wounds. Tragically, one victim had already succumbed to their injuries, while the other was taken to a nearby hospital ⁤with non-life threatening wounds.

Several Shootings This ‌Year

In 2023, Hernando County has experienced multiple shootings:

  • On Jan. 6, two adults were shot during a⁣ domestic incident on Powell Road in Brooksville. Sadly, both victims were male, and one died at the​ scene. ⁣The second victim, initially in critical condition, later‌ succumbed to their injuries.

  • At around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, a double shooting occurred near Hazel Avenue and Dr. Martin‌ Luther King Jr. Boulevard in South Brooksville. The suspect fled the scene, ‍and both victims were airlifted to⁣ a trauma center. Unfortunately, one victim, a student at Hernando High School, did not survive.

  • On April 25, a woman called the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office to report a male victim who had been shot on Nordica Road in⁤ Weeki Wachee. Despite being airlifted to a trauma center, the victim passed ⁢away.

  • On May​ 18, a verbal altercation escalated into a shooting on Our Road in Brooksville.‍ The victim, critically injured, was⁤ flown to a local trauma center, while the shooter was ⁢charged with attempted ‍murder.

  • At 1:54 a.m. on‍ July 25, deputies responded ​to a shooting on Josephine Street in south Brooksville. They found an adult male in the roadway with gunshot wounds.
