Pro-Platner Feminists Show They Love Abortion More Than Women
March On PAC, a leftist group that says it represents women, announced support for Graham Platner-the presumptive U.S. senate Democrat nominee in Maine-before the state’s primary election. The endorsement comes despite recent allegations, including claims reported by the New York Times that Platner was emotionally and physically abusive toward ex-girlfriends, as well as other reporting accusing him of womanizing while married and downplaying sexual assault.
The PAC says it is indeed not dismissing the allegations, but argues it will back Platner as he supports a federal “right to choose” on abortion, contrasting him with incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, whom March On claims has voted against healthcare and reproductive rights. The article portrays this as hypocrisy,arguing that the group’s women-centered rhetoric does not apply consistently when abuse allegations arise,and that the campaign effectively reduces the race to abortion-while Democrats and allied activists,it says,have rushed to dismiss the accusations. It further argues that progressive feminism and abortion advocacy have been intertwined, and claims that groups like March On ultimately prioritize abortion politics over women themselves.
A leftist group that claims to represent women declared its support for presumptive U.S. Senate Democrat nominee Graham Platner ahead of Maine’s primary election on Tuesday, despite allegations that he chronically mistreated his ex-girlfriends, because he supports their abortion agenda.
The March On PAC is known for staging an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol over the sham rape allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and bragging about its “deep roots in the Women’s March movement.” Its once-hailed campaign to believe and support women, however, doesn’t appear to extend to heated Senate races where March On’s preferred candidate has been accused of abuse.
The New York Times published an exposé last week featuring testimony alleging Platner was emotionally and physically abusive toward ex-girlfriends. Other reports, adding to articles accusing Platner of womanizing while married, linked the Mainer to a Reddit account that appeared to downplay sexual assault.
While March On claimed it does not take the allegations against Platner “lightly,” the PAC “endorsed Platner early and is standing firm” because he, unlike incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, believes in abortion extremism in the form of “a strong federal guarantee of the right to choose.”
“Graham Platner’s record, his values, and his commitment to the people of Maine have not changed. Susan Collins voted for the wars that sent him to fight. She has voted against healthcare, against reproductive rights, and for the interests of the wealthy and well-connected at every turn. That is the race we are focused on. That is the race Maine deserves to have,” the group wrote.
Just like that, the self-proclaimed torchbearers of fourth-wave feminism reduced a race plagued with reports of abused women to the issue of abortion, a practice that inarguably harms women present and future. And they aren’t the only ones.
As Federalist Staff Writer Shawn Fleetwood accurately noted, “Democrats and their acolytes [also] quickly dismissed” the allegations in an attempt not to disturb Platner’s corporate media–created “working-class” oyster farmer persona.
The hypocrisy of March On and other “feminists” in their “unequivocal” support of Platner should come as no surprise. To Democrats and their activist allies, feminism is not about celebrating women and their distinct ability to steward life, but treating pregnancy and raising children as an obstacle to happiness and success.
Americans are inundated with entertainment, workplace, and sometimes even pulpit propaganda that preaches abortion is necessary for women to be equal to men. One look at the mental, physical, and emotional devastation and abuse that stems from abortion, especially mail-order mifepristone, proves the opposite. Yet killing the unborn is promoted alongside false promises that reckless sex, shattering glass ceilings, and girlbossing are more important than marriage, family, and fertility, even though data shows women with husbands and kids are happier.
Progressive feminism, which repackaged abortion during the sexual revolution as pro-women, directly laid the groundwork for the vast baby-killing industry. That same progressive feminism, at the hands of leftist groups like March On, continues to prop abortion giants up by funding, endorsing, and promoting Democrats who wish to bankroll and advance ending life in the womb through all nine months in every state.
Democrats’ obsession with unlimited abortion is unpopular, which is exactly why it requires a new feminist facade. Make no mistake, it’s groups like March On and their support for politicians like Platner that prove “feminists” love abortion more than women.
