According to the Weaponization Committee, FBI Hatched Plan To Surveil Catholics
House Republicans discovered that the FBI has developed a strategy this year to seek out suppliers within Catholic churches to look into religious fanaticism.
In a letter dated Monday, Rep. Jim Jordan( R., Ohio ), the chairman of the House Select Subcommittee on Weaponization, stated that the FBI was attempting to gather information inside Catholic churches in Virginia using information from an undercover employee, including clergy members and church leaders.

As part of the investigation, the FBI released a small number of records last month, one of which talked about” opportunities” for the agency to” leverage existing sources” or create new ones so that it could report on suspicious activity within their parishes.

Republicans established the weaponization committee earlier this year to look into the FBI and Justice Department’s’s use of improper monitoring or collaboration with Big Tech firms to target liberals. The relationships between FBI brokers and social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook have been looked into by the committee.
Additionally, the committee has heard testimony regarding a task force of the Biden administration that looked into relatives who identified themselves as possible domestic terrorists at school boards. Republicans released a statement last month claiming that the FBI had opened at least 25 investigations into kids based on information provided about their behavior at school board meetings.
