FBI Director Chris Wray Refuses To Say What Role Feds Played In January 6 Riot
FBI Director Chris Wray In an interview Tuesday, the federal law enforcement officers allegedly took part in the riot at the U.S. Capitol that occurred on January 6, 2021. They refused to reveal this information.
Wray was asked about the matter in an interview with Bret Baier, anchor. “Special Report.”
Baier read a tweet by a viewer, who wanted to ask the FBI director about who planted pipe bombs outside of the DNC/RNC. This diverted law enforcement resources from January 6.
“With hundreds of other January 6 defendants arrested over two years, how has the bomber still not been caught?” The viewer was curious. “Does the FBI director feel confidently that they will come — someday be brought to justice?”
Wray expressed confidence in his investigation team and said the bureau was doing a good job. “devoted loads and loads of effort into that specific investigation,” They have also asked for public assistance in identifying the perpetrator.
“And the other Twitter question we get a lot is, did the FBI have undercover agents or paid informants or assets among the mob that stormed the Capitol on January 6?” Baier added.
“Well, as I’m sure you can appreciate, Bret, I can’t really appropriately talk about when, where, and how we use confidential informants,” Wray replied.

BRET BAIER FOX ANCHOR: Just a few questions on Twitter.
Ford Fischer tweets: “What I’d really like to ask the FBI director, on January 5, 2021, a still unidentified person planted pipelines at the DNC and RNC which diverted law enforcement attention and resources on January 6. With hundreds of other January 6 defendants arrested over two years, how has the bomber still not been caught? Does the FBI director feel confidently that they will come — someday be brought to justice?”
CHRIS WAY, FBI DIRECTOR
We have put a lot of effort into this particular investigation. We’ve done public investigative publicity to ask for the public’s assistance. Our team is working hard on this investigation. I trust them, the FBI agents, analysts, and professional staff.
BAIER: The other question we get often is, Did the FBI have any undercover agents or paid intelligants or assets with the mob who stormed the Capitol the 6th of January?
WRAY: Bret, as you know, I don’t have the right words to describe when, where and how we use confidential informants.
BAIER: Is it classified
WRAY: Well, we have information that is about any number of topics that is law enforcement-sensitive.
However, you shouldn’t take my inability answer a question due to my obligations as an indication or hint about the accuracy of your tweeter’s tweet.
