The family of one of the fallen U.S. service members from the war in Iran accompanied President Donald Trump to Georgia after they received his flag-draped body during a somber dignified transfer process.

The family of 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, received a standing ovation during Trump’s campaign rally at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb, when he acknowledged they were part of the crowd.

Trump had earlier attended the dignified transfer at Dover Air Base, Delaware, of Feehan and three other service members who died last week in Jordan and Iraq as the United States and Iran exchange an escalation of strikes in the aftermath of the cessation of their memorandum of understanding.

“One of the families happened to be traveling to Georgia,” Trump told the crowd on Wednesday. “I said, ‘So, if you want, I’ll give you a ride on Air Force One.’ And they said, ‘Wow.’”

Trump described Feehan’s family as “great people” who are “heartbroken,” sharing how he got to know them “a little bit on the plane.”

“When I go to Dover, I read charts on all of the young people and some are unbelievable,” he said. “This is a son who was, like, a flawless, perfect person. Beautiful, beautiful son. Handsome in every way. Brilliant, respected by everybody. This, his sheet read so beautifully.”

Trump added that it was “an honor” to have Feehan’s family at his event, and that his memory will be in his and his aides’ “hearts forever.”

“He’s looking down right here,” he said. “He’s so proud right now. So together we’re making our country safer, and stronger, and far more successful than it’s ever been before.”

Trump, however, remained adamant the U.S. is “winning” the war against Iran and he ensures Tehran “will never ever be able to do to us what they’ve done to so many.”
