“Fact-Checkers” Can’t Keep Their Story Straight in Denying Biden’s Support for Banning Certain Handguns

It was amusing that the House Republicans sent a tweet in 2021 saying, “It’s funny!” “President Biden says he wanted to ban handguns,” Jon Greenberg, PolitiFact’s director of policy, rated the claim as false. He explained that Biden doesn’t want to ban all handguns, but 9mm pistols.

Biden talked about banning assault weapons, magazines that can carry 20 to 120 rounds or more of ammunition, and other types of weaponry. These policies wouldn’t affect most popular handgun models.
