FAA advances Triumphal Arch after safety hazard review on planes

The monument, called the “Triumphal Arch,” is situated on an empty traffic island in Memorial Circle, between the Lincoln Memorial and arlington National Cemetery, near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The main structure reaches approximately 160 feet in height, with additional elements like a gold-winged figure and eagles elevating the total height to about 250 feet. This approval allows advancement plans for the monument to proceed.

The main structure’s height is around 160 feet, but rises to 250 feet when including a soaring gold-winged figure and two eagles atop the arch.
