Evidence is” overwhelming ,” according to COVID-19, which came from Wuhan lab, the former spy chief informs Congress.

The former director of national intelligence argued the evidence is “overwhelming” that COVID-19 originated at a Wuhan lab as he called upon the CIA and the intelligence community to reach what he dubbed the “only plausible assessment.”

During a Tuesday hearing before the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, John Ratcliffe, who served as the last head of Office of the Director of National Intelligence under former President Donald Trump, referred to himself as” a person with as much or more exposure than anyone to our government’s’s knowledge during the initial yearof the influenza pandemic and epidemic beginning.”

Ratcliffe implied that the intelligence community was holding back because of the significant ramifications for public conclusions would have for the already troubled U.S. China relationship. He testified that CIA and other spy agencies have sufficient evidence to get off the fence and visit the FBI and Energy Department in concluding that SARS-CoV – 2 most likely originated at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The Energy Department immediately has” lower confidence” in the coronavirus’s’s origin, according to FBI Director Christopher Wray, who confirmed earlier this year that the FBI has long believed COVID-19 originated at a Wuhan test. In an assessment published in August 2021 by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, it was found that four U.S. spy agencies and the National Security Council had” lower confidence” in the likelihood that COVID-19 had a genuine source.

Ratcliffe argued that” a lab leak is the only explanation credibly supported by our intelligence, by science, and by common sense” and that the ledger’s’s” spillover” side would be long and overwhelming while the” sumption side” was almost completely empty if” our intelligence and evidence pointing to a naturally occurring’ spiltover’ theory’ were placed side by side.”

The former detective main continued by saying that as he learned more, his conviction that COVID-19 originated at the Wuhan lab grew.

Ratcliffe asserted that there had been a” demonstrable shift” within the spy agencies toward the lab leak, saying that” the intelligence community’s’s sources for this information are numerous, diverse, and unassailable.”

He claimed that” more and more analysts” are leaning toward the lab leak and predicted that every intelligence business” may get this same assessment” in the future.

Ratcliffe claimed that it was” unjustifiable” that the CIA had not come to a decision as of yet, stating that this is” a matter of won’t, not can.”

The former spy chief emphasized that” such an assessment would have enormous geopolitical implications that the Biden administration seemingly does not want to face head-on ,” but that instead,” the only plausible assessment the agency could make is that a virus that killed over one million Americans originated in – controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, whose research included work for China’s’s military.”

Ratcliffe claimed that the Biden administration has been” hesitant” to address the China problem, allowing a Chinese spy bubble to fly across the continent and ignoring Chinese threats made against American politicians who visited Taiwan.

The former GOP Texas congressman also claimed that although it didn’t happen frequently,” intelligence on China” was” suppressed” from him while he served as director of national intelligence, calling it” improper.”

Ratcliffe stated that” the difficulties I and many top Trump administration officials faced while in office included fair worries about the secretive resources of our knowledge and the delicate methods used to obtain it, as well as illegal barriers related to expert conflicts of interest and partisan politics.”

” National and electoral politics were also influencing analysis of our intelligence on China ,” he added.

The 2021 Intelligence Community Assessment on the 2020 election had a cut on China, with the majority opinion claiming that China did not use impact activities in the election and the majority opinion concluding that it did so specifically to harm Trump’s’s chances of winning election. The minority stance, which claimed that” China did take some steps to try to undermine former President Trump’s’s reelection,” was written by Christopher Porter, the national intelligence officer for cyber from 2019 until last summer.

Ratcliffe cited a memo written in January 2021 by analytical analyst and longtime intelligence official Barry Zulauf that claimed the intelligence community’s’s treatment of Russia and China was divided.

According to Zulauf,” The analysts appeared reluctant to have their analysis on China presented because they tend to disagree with the policies of the[ Trump ] administration.”

Ratcliffe also frequently cited a fact sheet that he and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had collaborated on, which suggested that the Wuhan lab had been involved in Chinese military operations and that COVID-19-like problems may have struck the people there in the fall of 2019.

According to his testimony,” the lab results and tests from those patients would be dispositive ,” and” if the answers were exculpatory in nature, the Chinese government would share that information, which it has not ,”

Information from a conference call on February 1, 2020, during which at least 11 scientists speculated on the virus’s’s origins, with many leaning toward the facility hole, are included in previously made public emails. According to letters, Drs. Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins, who were the National Institutes of Health’s’s director at the time, worked to disprove the theory.

Peter Daszak of EcoHealth Alliance worked closely with the Wuhan lab and its” bats lady” president Shi Zhengli for a very long time. Daszak provided the Taiwanese academy with hundreds of thousands of dollars in NIH pitcher coronavirus cash.

Ratcliffe concurred that Fauci and Collins did not want the connections between Eastern virologists and Wuhan lab experts to be overly highlighted. He claimed that during his tenure as director of national intelligence, he never spoke with Fauci and that the latter never informed him of the doubts that COVID-19 might have originated in a laboratory. He continued by saying that some of the data from NIH was” inconsistent” with both American intelligence and open-source knowledge.

Professor of Scripps Research Kristian Andersen previously stated in a letter to Nature magazine in February 2020 that Fauci, Collins, Dr. Jeremy Farrar, the Wellcome Trust director and current chief scientist at the World Health Organization,” prompted” him and other scientists. The article was written with assistance from Anderson by pathologist Bob Garry and people.

The widely cited article,” The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV – 2 ,” which was published in Nature in March 2020, argued that COVID-19’s’s origins at a Wuhan lab were unlikely to have been caused by” natural selection” rather than by an accidental lab leak.

Ratcliffe asserted that he thinks Daszak, Farrar, and Garry have informed knowledge authorities about COVID-19.
