Republican and Independent Voters in Nassau County Mistakenly Identified as Democrats

Republican and independent voters in Nassau County, New York, were in for a shock this week when they received their voter information cards for an upcoming primary. Every voter was mistakenly identified as a Democrat, causing confusion and frustration among non-Democrats in the county.

The mistake was made by Phoenix Graphics, the company responsible for sending out the voting cards. According to the company, it was a “human error” and they take full responsibility for it. They have already fixed the error and will deliver corrected voter information cards at no cost to taxpayers.

Cost of the Mistake

The mistake will cost about $300,000, according to local outlets. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said that they are already receiving phone calls from upset voters who are identified as Democrats when they are actually registered as Republicans or conservatives.

No Conspiracy Theories

Blakeman does not believe that anything nefarious was going on and said that he does not think the Democratic Party is engaged in a conspiracy to create havoc in their own primaries. He believes that it was an isolated event and that the Board of Elections needs to review their processes to prevent this from happening again.
