Eric Swalwell trolls Trump tariffs strategy by eating a taco on TikTok
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) shared a TikTok video of himself eating a taco to mock President Donald Trump’s tariff negotiation strategy.
In the video, posted on Friday, Swalwell is asked about the TACO acronym, which means “Trump always chickens out,” while sitting at his desk. Investors have used the acronym to characterize Trump’s habit of announcing tariffs and delaying them days later.
“What the f*** is up with Trump always chickening out on tariffs?” a person off-screen asked Swalwell.
Without saying a word, the congressman grabbed a Taco Bell taco from his desk and took a bite.

“Need anything else?” Swalwell asked after a couple of bites.
“No, that’s it,” the person responded.
TRUMP PUSHES BACK ON CHARACTERIZATION OF ‘TACO’ STRATEGY: ‘IT’S CALLED NEGOTIATION’
Trump has voiced his distaste for the TACO term, claiming, “It’s called negotiation. You set a number. And if you go down, if I set a ridiculous high number and I go down a little bit, a little bit, they want me to hold that number, 145% tariff. Even I said, ‘Man, that really got up.’”
When a reporter recently asked the president about the term, Trump referred to the question as “nasty.”
