Today? Today?

Bieniemy was a great co-head coach, and offensive coordinator when he was introduced to the team by the franchise on Thursday. This former Colorado Buffaloes star tailback is Ron Rivera’s latest addition to his staff. He was also a key player in the Chiefs’ 38-35 victory over the Eagles. Super Bowl LVII It was approximately two weeks ago.

Bieniemy has been climbing up the ranks over many years and has been considered for more prestigious jobs on multiple occasions. He’s been passed over at least once in all those years, which has kept his name in the midst of controversy. Many fans and observers are left wondering: Why has he not been offered a position as a head coach?

Eric Bieniemy did not fall for the trap of talking too much about it. He said he was, and was quoted several times. “fired up” About being a Commanders member. He sounded like he was only interested in getting to D.C. and nothing else.

“Being a head coach right now, it hasn’t happened,” Bieniemy said. “It’s not anything that’s going to impact me moving forward because the only thing I need to be concerned with is what’s important today.”

“Today I got to be the best person that I can be. I got to be the best coach that I can be.”

As the Chiefs’ Offensive coordinator, the team was in three Super Bowls and won two of them (including this one). Two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes Bienemy’s offense was consistently at the top of The League.

Many people found it difficult to believe that Bieniemy had not taken the logical next step. Some called it racism on the part of NFL owners, while others said that Bieniemy had been ‘exposed’ as not being all he was cracked up to be. Still more thought that perhaps he might have some other baggage that no one outside the NFL knew about – although this last scenario doesn’t seem likely. It is difficult to determine the truth.

Bieniemy is currently focusing on the task in hand. That’s probably the best thing for Bieniemy.

Bieniemy will have to do a lot to help Rivera get back on track. Washington (8-8-1) was last in NFC East. It also struggled for consistency in 2022. They averaged 18.9 points per game, and have only been to the playoffs twice in the past 10 years. Their last appearance came in 2020, when they managed a record of 7-9. What’s more? Since 2005, they have not won a playoff match.

So, the thought of ‘next year’ is probably far from Eric Bieniemy’s mind right now, because the ‘right now’ is total chaos. How secure is his NFL future? His cause won’t be helped by any failures now. Perhaps the coach is aware of his actions by simply keeping his eyes open.
