Elon Musk Welcomes “Ligma & Johnson” Trolls Back to Twitter

In an unexpected heartwarming move, Elon Musk welcomed back “former employees” “Ligma and Johnson” to Twitter headquarters today.
“Rahul Ligma” and “Daniel Johnson” are fictitious names used by two pranksters who were able to dupe mainstream media into believing that they were woke Twitter employees who had just been fired in the wake of Musk’s takeover of the company.
CNBC’s Deirdre Bosa fell for the prank and filed a report featuring the two men back in late October.
“Skepticism immediately emerged on social media. One of the pranksters said his name was ‘Rahul Ligma’ — a reference to a popular internet meme — and held a copy of Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming” aloft while speaking to reporters. The other said his name was ‘Daniel Johnson.'” The New York Post reported at the time.
Musk’s initial response to the prank was epic.
“Important to admit when I’m wrong & firing them was truly one of my biggest mistakes,” Musk said on Twitter in a follow-up tweet welcoming the boys back into the Twitter fold.
The prank, in addition to being hilarious, also proved Elon Musk’s point that the mainstream media should not have a monopoly on “the truth” and establishing the narrative. Musk has pledged to elevate citizen journalism in order to combat the spread of mainstream misinformation.
