Bloomberg reports that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is the new wealthiest person on the planet.
According to the outlet, Musk claimed the status of a Bloomberg Billionaire Index holder late Monday afternoon. He had a fortune worth $187.1 million at the time. Musk’s net wealth was estimated to be around $180 million the day before.
French luxury giant LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault previously supplanted Musk from the No. In mid-December, Arnault was ranked No. 1 and has held that position since. Bloomberg pegged Arnault’s net worth at $185.3 billion on Monday.
