Dozens of Mar-a-Lago staff subpoenaed in special documents investigation: Report

AA minimum of two dozen people, including staff at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, were subpoenaed by the government to testify about Trump’s handlings of classified documents.

Some of those subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury were captured on security footage as they moved boxes from the storage space where classified documents were found during an FBI raid last august.

“They’re casting an extremely wide net — anyone and everyone who might have seen something,” CNN was told by an unnamed source who is familiar with the Justice Department’s efforts.

Sources said that investigators subpoenaed staffers to inquire about what they might have seen or heard in their daily activities at the resort. This included whether they saw documents or boxes in Trump’s office or storage room. Additional staff members called to testify included servers at estate restaurants and a housekeeper.

Trump’s inner circle members have been subpoenaed as well, including Margo Martin, Trump’s communications aide, who testified in Washington, D.C., last Thursday.

For nearly a year, the Justice Department has been investigating Trump for allegedly mishandling classified records and obstruction charges. FBI agents uncovered more than 100 classified documents in a Mar-a-Lago raid last year.

Also, classified documents were found at the offices and homes of President Joe Biden when he was Barack Obama’s vice president. The discovery of classified documents is also a problem for Mike Pence, Trump’s vice-president. Although both discoveries were made earlier in the year, some documents from Biden were discovered in October.
