Dozens injured after bus crashes into building in Maryland

Dozens of people where injured when a bus crashed into a building in Baltimore County, Maryland, specifically in Pikesville. Over 30 patients were initially reported, with one in critical condition. Emergency responders later confirmed 28 patients, declaring a mass casualty incident and deploying multiple ambulances, a shock trauma team, and a medevac helicopter. One critically injured patient was extricated from teh scene. The bus appeared to be part of Baltimore City’s transportation system, and the crash involved at least eight vehicles, some heavily damaged or overturned. Reisterstown Road was closed between Old Court Road and McHenry Avenue due to the accident. the incident is under investigation, and authorities are providing updates as they become available.


Dozens of people were injured after a bus crashed into a building in Baltimore County on Wednesday, according to Maryland authorities.

Over 30 patients were initially reported, including one in critical condition, after the incident in Pikesville, the Baltimore County Fire Department said. Officials later confirmed 28 patients, after declaring a second alarm mass casualty incident around 6 p.m. and requesting a shock trauma team and medevac helicopter for emergency response. Fifteen ambulances arrived at the scene as well.

One patient who was trapped in the crash was in critical condition but was extricated at 6:47.

The bus appeared to be part of Baltimore City’s transportation system. Footage from the scene indicated at least eight vehicles were involved, including several that sustained heavy damage, and one that overturned.

Baltimore County police say Reisterstown Road is closed in both directions between Old Court Road and McHenry Avenue due to the crash.
