Dolly Parton Jokes About Threesome with Garth Brooks and Wife Trisha Yearwood at ACM Awards

Country music legend Dolly Parton had everyone laughing during the opening monologue of the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards. Co-hosting with Garth Brooks, Parton made a risqué joke about the term “GOAT” (Greatest of all time) and revealed that she was Brooks’ and his wife Trisha Yearwood’s “hall pass.”

The Joke

After Brooks referred to Parton as the “GOAT” in country music, she responded by saying, “Did I hear you say you were looking for a goat? I’ve got your goat right here.” Parton then wheeled a goat in a cart out on stage and made several odd jokes directed at Brooks.

“I’m sorry, that was such a ba-a-a-a-a-d joke,” Parton said. “This is Garth’s very first time ever hosting an award show. You know what they say, you never forget your first time.”

The Hall Pass

Parton then revealed that she learned she was Brooks’ “hall pass” and added, “I’m Trisha’s hall pass too,” with Brooks confirming that it was true.

“I just had a thought,” Parton continued. “I know why you’re doing the goat thing. I think it stands for ‘Garth organized a threesome.'” Brooks blushed a bit before he replied, “I thought I couldn’t love you any more.”

About Dolly Parton’s Marriage

Parton has been married to Tennessee businessman Carl Thomas Dean for more than 50 years. Speaking recently about how the couple has made their marriage work for 56 years, Parton said that her husband’s “not in the business, so we have different interests, but yet we have the things we love to do together.”

“So it was meant to be, I think,” she added. “He was the one I was supposed to have and vice versa.”

Country music fans were delighted by Parton’s humor and quick wit at the ACM Awards.
