Disney’s Latest ‘Star Wars’ Series Promotes LGBT Representation to Children

The ⁣release of Disney’s “Star Wars:‍ Tales of the Empire” series, aimed at children, features a character using “they/them” pronouns, highlighting inclusivity. This move aligns with Disney’s‌ commitment to diversity ‍within the Star Wars universe. Additionally, upcoming Star Wars programming, such as “The Acolyte,”⁢ continues this trend with LGBT representation. The industry’s emphasis on such ⁣themes warrants parental ‌awareness.

If you thought losing hundreds of millions of dollars would deter The Walt Disney Company from continuing its embrace of leftist politics, think again.

On Saturday, Disney’s Lucasfilm released “Star Wars: Tales of the Empire,” an anthology series highlighting different characters from across the Star Wars universe. While the show is clearly marketed to children, that didn’t stop showrunners from featuring a character using “they/them” pronouns.

In one of the episodes, the Galactic Empire dispatches two Inquisitors — force-wielding dark-side users — to hunt down a Jedi spotted on a distant world. Upon arriving at the planet, one of the Inquisitors asks a young boy where she can find the Jedi. The boy eventually tells her “they” are hiding in the mountains, giving viewers the impression that there is more than one Jedi.

After the two Inquisitors make their way to the top of the mountains, they encounter a single Jedi — and the show’s writers make it very obvious that this Jedi uses “they/them” pronouns.

“They’re still alive,” one of the Inquisitors says after her partner stabbed the Jedi in the back. “We need to get them to the ship. We can save them.”

Parents concerned about their children being exposed to radical gender ideology should also be advised that “Tales of the Empire” is hardly the only Star Wars programming seeking to advance such ideas. According to Not the Bee, Lucasfilm’s upcoming “Star Wars: The Acolyte” series is packed with LGBT-identifying actors, such as Amandla Stenberg, “who is gay, non-binary and uses she/her and they/them pronouns.”

The program’s showrunner, Leslye Headland — who identifies as a “queer woman” — told media in 2021 that her experiences would be reflected in the show and, as described by Game Rant, “believes her queerness will come through in the show, even if it happens to be on a subconscious level.”

“[T]here’s just no way that me being a queer woman is not going to be reflected in my work,” Headland said. It’s worth mentioning that Headland’s partner, actress Rebecca Henderson, has a featured role in “The Acolyte.”

Lucasfilm’s shoehorning of LGBT insanity into programs meant for children further exposes the dishonesty of CEO Bob Iger, who claimed during the company’s annual shareholder meeting last month that Disney’s gambol with political activism and injecting leftist ideology into its content was over.

“I’ve always believed that we have a responsibility to do good in the world, but we know our job is not to advance any kind of agenda,” Iger said. “For as long as I’m in the job, I’m going to continue to be guided by a sense of decency and respect, and we’ll always trust our instincts.”

Our job is to “entertain, first and foremost,” he added.

Disney’s embrace of left-wing identity politics has not gone unnoticed by parents. In July 2023, the New York Post reported that the House of Mouse had lost nearly $1 billion “on its last eight feature films, several of which include prominent ‘woke’ characters.” Rather than acknowledge the destruction leftist ideology has wrought on its brand, Disney has continued to double down, even attacking fans for the company’s failed projects.
