Disney Star Sabrina Carpenter Cancels Concert Due To ‘Credible Security Threat’

Singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter, a former Disney star, cancelled her concert in Portland, Oregon, due to a “credible security threat” according to the promoter. The 23-year-old communicated to her 1.7 million Twitter followers that the concert had been cancelled after attendees were asked to leave the venue just before her performance. The singer also apologised in the tweet and said refunds would be given, while also promising to work to reschedule the concert.

The concert’s cancellation occurred following Portland Police Bureau receiving an anonymous phone call from someone threatening to blow up the Crystal Ballroom. The venue had hosted a performance from a band prior to Carpenter but was later evacuated. Carpenter had been scheduled to perform at Crystal Ballroom but was moved to Keller Auditorium due to a larger crowd. Her absence from the venue followed an “abundance of caution” from concert promoters.

The refund process for ticket buyers has commenced after the incident earlier this week, but the “Emails I Can’t Send” tour, which commenced on March 16, is still scheduled to tour San Francisco on Friday. Actress Sabrina Carpenter is best known for her role in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, which ended in 2017.
