Christian nurse and daughter kidnapped in Haiti forgive captors, hope to reunite in heaven.
A Christian Nurse’s Message of Love and Forgiveness to Her Captors
Alix Dorsainvil, a Christian nurse who was kidnapped in Haiti in July and recently freed, has a powerful message for her captors. Despite the trauma she endured, Dorsainvil chooses love and forgiveness.
Dorsainvil was working at a clinic run by the group El Roi Haiti when she and her daughter were seized. They were held for 13 days before being released. In a heartfelt YouTube message in Creole, Dorsainvil expressed her love and hope for her captors.
“I love you in Christ and one day, I hope to hug you in Heaven,” she said.
While condemning the kidnapping, Dorsainvil offered faith as a substitute for what her captors are seeking. She understands their search for happiness, satisfaction, money, power, and status, but she believes that only the love of Jesus Christ can truly fill the void in their hearts.
Dorsainvil expressed her gratitude to those who prayed for her during her captivity. She believes that God was present with her and her daughter throughout the ordeal, and she hopes that sharing their story will bring glory to Jesus and lead others to experience His love.
The El Roi Haiti Team’s blog also acknowledged the efforts of thousands of Haitians who marched for the release of Dorsainvil and other captives. They praised God for His love, grace, and mercy, which were evident in the faithful supporters who fought for their freedom.
