DeSantis’s Immigration Bill Would Nullify Illegal Border-Crossers’ Out-of-State IDs

Florida governor proposes new legislation Ron DeSantis proposed new legislation that would nullify driver’s licenses, state identification cards and other documents obtained from illegal immigrants.

Furthermore, all driver’s licenses and state IDs that were issued in countries where illegal immigrants are legal to obtain them will be null.

“We will not recognize a driver’s license from any state that issues them to illegal immigrants,” Ingoglia suggested. “And law enforcement will then be told to proceed as if they had no license whatsoever.”

Currently, illegal immigrants can obtain drivers’ licenses in 18 states plus Washington.

California’s illegal immigrants are now able to do so since 2013. But, California’s Democrat Governor in September made that change. Gavin Newsom signed A bill that allows all non-citizens to get state identification cards regardless of whether they are able to drive or can provide evidence of their legal presence in the U.S.

Ingoglia stated that Florida doesn’t allow illegal immigrants to get driver’s and state ID cards. However, Ingoglia said that certain city or county governments were able to bypass the law by paying third parties to issue community identification cards. These illegal immigrants can then access government services.

“It’s stuff like this, plus more, that the state of Florida is looking at doing to really force the federal government to finally fixing this problem, which has been festering for about 50 years.”

DeSantis’ bill also includes a provision that requires all hospitals that are eligible for Medicaid to inquire about legal status of patients and to submit reports quarterly to the state regarding the amount of illegal immigration who have passed through their emergency rooms.
