DeSantis Urges Conservatives Never to Surrender to ‘Woke Mob’ in Fiery Iowa Speech

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stated in speeches in Iowa that Republicans adopting a firm stance on the nation’s culture conflicts will help win elections. He also pledged not to surrender to the “woke mob.”

DeSantis visited Iowa on March 10, and took part in separate events at Davenport, Iowa and Des Moines. “freedom blueprint” Tour for his new memoir “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.”

DeSantis stated that the book, which provides a roadmap for conservatism against the excesses and progressivism, was the best-selling nonfiction book in the nation.

“There’s a lot of people that aren’t happy about that, I can tell you,” He said it, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Although the Florida governor is thought to be contemplating a presidential run for office, he has not yet declared his intention. DeSantis participated in these events before the 2024 Iowa GOP caucuses which will begin the Republican presidential nominating campaign.

‘Woke Mind Virus’

The Republican governor of Florida, Davenport, highlighted his fight against leftist priorities in Florida, highlighting such achievements as banning mask and COVID-19 vaccination mandates, banning teaching gender identity and sexual orientation to students, and prohibiting biological men from participating in women’s sporting events.

“We’re very sensitive to what parents are facing in terms of the different influences that are trying to be imposed on our children,” DeSantis said. “It is wrong to tell a second grader that they were born in the wrong body. It is wrong to have gender ideology imposed in our schools. And in Florida, we don’t let it happen.”

DeSantis praised these efforts in his speech at the Florida Board of Medicine, where he recently outlawed transgender surgery, hormone therapy and puberty blocking drugs for children.

“Our children are not guinea pigs for medical experimentation. We don’t want people making money off mutilating them in ways that are irreversible,” He blamed the recent explosion in transgender procedures on the “woke mind virus.”

“It’s warping people,” He said. “It’s infecting medical practice.”

‘Never Ever Surrender to the Woke Mob’

DeSantis finished his address in Davenport with the statement that Florida has managed not to be endangered. “free” despite “woke ideology” Many institutions, including universities, hospitals, and corporations, are now accepting them.

“Because ‘woke ideology’ has infected so many institutions, if you really want to protect the freedom of your folks, you’ve got to be willing to defend them against the left imposing their pathologies on your people in any of these institutions,” DeSantis said. “So we’ve got to fight.”

“In the state of Florida, we will fight the ‘woke’ in the legislature, we will fight the ‘woke’ in education, we will fight the ‘woke’ in the businesses.”

“We will never ever surrender to the ‘woke mob’—our state is where ‘woke’ goes to die,” DeSantis said that conservative efforts against the government were being held up by him. “woke ideology” Florida is a model for the rest of the country.

DeSantis also criticized corporate America’s efforts to impose an progressive ideological agenda via ESG. This was, he claimed, a way to use economic strength to push an agenda that would be challenged at the polls.

He opposed what he called financial sector discrimination against fossil fuels, and Second Amendment rights. DeSantis also pledged to protect Christians and conservatives from financial sector discrimination. “woke banking,” This could refer to denial of financial services that are based on ideologies.

‘You Watch Iowa’

At both events, DeSantis drew comparisons between Iowa’s and Florida’s politics and praised Iowa for being one of the “best run” The country has several states.

“There is an effort to sexualize these young kids, and it is wrong. And we’ve got to stand up against it. And we can’t allow it to win the day. And you’re doing it in Iowa. We’re doing it in Florida. But that needs to be all across the country,” He said.

DeSantis addressed the Iowa Republicans during this week’s 60-day session of the Florida Legislature.

“I always tell my legislators, ‘You watch Iowa. Do not let them get ahead of us on any of this stuff,'” DeSantis said. “So, we’ve got our legislature in session now. So buckle up. The next 60 days should be fun in Florida.”

DeSantis’ antiwoke rhetoric was met with enthusiastic response by the crowd, but there was a much cooler response from the Biden administration.

Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary, addressed the press during a Friday press briefing Was it asked? DeSantis’ comments about “woke” Florida is the best place to die.

“When Republicans—extreme Republicans, these MAGA Republicans—don’t agree with an issue or with policy, they don’t bring forth something that’s going to have a good-faith conversation. They go to this conversation of ‘woke.’ But that is not actually policy,” Jean-Pierre said.

“This is not having a good-faith conversation on how we can move the country forward. This is about attacking young kids and their parents because of how they view themselves, because of how they see themselves, because of how they want to live. What that turns into is hate,” She continued.

Rita Hart, the chairwoman of Iowa Democratic Party, was similarly harsh on Thursday.

“I don’t know who’s going to come out of this GOP primary, but the bottom line is that Iowans—and Americans—cannot afford the extreme agenda that these folks are peddling,” Hart spoke to reporters during a press conference.

Donald Trump, a former president, will be visiting Davenport Monday.
