DeSantis vows to ‘battle’ in Trump clash.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Fires Back at Trump’s COVID-19 Criticism

“I’m going to respond to attacks,”

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is not one to back down from a fight. He recently criticized former President Donald Trump for attacking his COVID-19 record, escalating their rhetoric as the governor contests the 2024 Republican nomination.

DeSantis Defends His Record

DeSantis took issue with Trump’s claim that former New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo managed the pandemic better than he did, calling the comments “bizarre” and “ridiculous.”

“If someone is saying that, I am going to, I’m going to counterpunch,”

“I’m going to fight back on it. I’m going to focus my fire on [President Joe] Biden, and I think he should do the same. He gives Biden a free pass.”

The governor also pointed out that he won the biggest election landslide that Florida Republicans have ever won, yet Trump never congratulated him on his success. Instead, the former president attacked him just days before the midterm election and continued to do so afterward.

DeSantis Takes Aim at Biden

During his address and press conference, DeSantis also took aim at President Biden, referencing his age and physical abilities.

“As president, I pledge to be an energetic executive that will take these important issues head on and deliver results,”

DeSantis is not afraid to speak his mind and defend his record. It will be interesting to see how this feud with Trump plays out as the governor continues his bid for the Republican nomination.
