DeSantis Mocks Jen Psaki’s ‘Have A Margarita’ Remark In Video Released On National Margarita Day

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis mocked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki in a video released on National Margarita Day that criticized the inflation of the Biden administration.

The governor’s jab referred to Psaki’s January interview during which she told Americans to “have a margarita” when frustrated about what is happening in the country.

“My advice to everyone out there who is frustrated, sad, angry, p***ed off, feel those emotions, go to a kickboxing class, have a margarita, do whatever you need to do this weekend, and then wake up on Monday morning, we’ve got to keep fighting,” Psaki said in the opening of the video.

“Having a margarita is well and good, but it is not a cure for Bidenflation,” DeSantis then states.

The Florida governor has long been a proponent of rolling back pandemic restrictions and increasing freedoms to improve the nation’s economy.

“From the onset of the pandemic, corporate media outlets were advocating for lockdowns, school closures, and forced masking of children. Two years later? The facts show lockdowns didn’t work, masks didn’t reduce spread, and that Democrats followed politics – not science,” DeSantis recently tweeted.

“Even worse, our school children were used as pawns in their political games. The legacy media will try to whitewash the Left’s failures and hypocrisy. Don’t let them just move on to the next narrative,” he added.

“After two years of nonsense, understand this: The medical science didn’t change, the political science did,” DeSantis said in a recent speech regarding infrastructure improvements in Florida.

The video was also released following a report early in February that showed inflation continued its surge in January, reaching a rate of 7.5%. The Daily Wire previously reported:

According to the United States Department of Labor, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) — which tracks costs faced by the typical American family — attained its highest rate of increase since February 1982. Core CPI, which does not consider volatile categories such as food and energy, increased by 6% year-over-year.

Inflation refers to the erosion of a currency’s purchasing power. Though nominal wages are rising as the American economy recovers from COVID-19 and the lockdown-induced recession, “real average hourly earnings” — which consider the effect of inflation — fell by 2.4% last year.

Nevertheless, President Joe Biden insisted that Americans should have “peace of mind” amid the record-setting inflation.

“Look again, slight digression, inflation is up. It’s up,” Biden said. “And, coming from a family when the price of gas went up you felt it in the household, you knew what it was like, it matters.”

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden stated he is working to protect Americans from “rising prices” for gas.

“My Administration is using every tool at our disposal to protect Americans from rising prices at the pump. We are closely monitoring energy supplies for any disruption, and we are executing a plan to secure the stability of global energy supplies,” the president wrote.
