DeSantis campaign pushes ahead despite fundraising concerns.

Gov. Ron DeSantis ⁣and his Super PAC Double Down on 2024 Campaign

Despite⁢ recent reports ⁤of financial troubles and staff⁤ departures, ⁣Gov. Ron DeSantis and ⁢his affiliated Super PAC are‌ determined to defeat⁣ former President Donald Trump and ⁣become the GOP’s⁤ next ⁣standard-bearer.

While Trump remains a formidable ⁤opponent, DeSantis’s allies are confident in the credibility of‍ his ⁢campaign. The Super PAC, ⁢Never Back⁢ Down, ‌plans to spend $200 ⁣million to ⁣boost DeSantis in key early nominating states, including Iowa, New Hampshire,⁢ South Carolina,⁣ and ⁣Nevada.

Building ‌a Strong Campaign

“From ⁣day one, Never‍ Back Down’s‍ strategy has been to turn Gov. DeSantis’s‌ grassroots energy into‍ action and to help share his ⁤blue-collar story, record‌ as a conservative fighter, ‍and ‌vision for America’s future,” said spokeswoman Jess⁣ Szymanski.

The Super ‌PAC has built a ‍historic⁤ nationwide ‌political and field operation,‍ with⁢ over⁢ 400 canvassers deployed nationwide who will‍ have knocked‌ on 1 million doors by the end of this month.

DeSantis’s ⁣campaign is focused on highlighting why he is best⁢ positioned to ‍defeat President Joe Biden in the upcoming election.⁢ They believe that as voters see more of DeSantis ‌in person, his‌ momentum will continue to grow.

However, DeSantis’s team faces the challenge of convincing early‌ nominating state ⁤voters to abandon Trump and⁤ support the governor. The campaign ‍memo acknowledges that many Trump supporters are only softly⁣ committed ‍to their candidate choice at this point.

Republican⁢ political consultant Matt Dole explains that fundraising for DeSantis is ‌complicated⁤ by Trump’s status as the de facto leader‍ of ⁣the Republican ⁢Party. The campaign needs ‌to find new donors who are ⁣willing⁤ to support DeSantis or attract ‍non-Trump donors.

Fundraising Challenges

“His major ⁤challenge is diversifying his⁢ fundraising, ‌which he has‍ to do,” said Dole. ”He ⁤has to find a way to increase ⁤his small-dollar fundraising… even‍ as he ‌continues to go after major new donors ‌and peeling Trump‌ supporters off of the former ⁣president’s campaign.”

Recent reports have raised questions⁣ about DeSantis’s ability to beat Trump in the ‍GOP primary. Campaign officials have ⁣released⁣ a memo detailing concerns⁣ about ⁣campaign finances and donor support.

Despite these challenges, veteran Republican strategist Frank Luntz ‌believes⁤ DeSantis’s best⁣ strategy is to continue⁤ promoting ads that focus on ⁣protecting children and families, as seen in ⁤the “Mamas for DeSantis” ad featuring the governor’s wife.

Overall, DeSantis’s ⁤campaign‍ must work to generate⁤ enthusiasm ⁢among Republican voters‌ and diversify their fundraising efforts to secure a strong position in the 2024 ⁤race.
