Dems and Media Celebrated Biden’s Announcement of Afghanistan Withdrawal

In April, President Joe Biden announced the full withdrawal of the remaining U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Democrats and the media hailed his decision as “[methodical] and [thoughtful].” Vice President Kamala Harris boasted about being the “last person in the room” with the president when the decision was made and insisted she was comfortable with the decision.

The withdrawal has not proceeded as smoothly as Biden’s boosters would have predicted. On Sunday, Taliban fighters defeated Afghanistan’s government, taking the capital of Kabul and marking the return of militant jihadist rule over the country.
