Democrats Look To Primary Biden In 2024: ‘Deeply Unpopular,’ ‘Old As S***,’ ‘Largely Been Ineffective’

Progressive Democrats will reportedly look to primary President Joe Biden in 2024 as dissatisfaction with the president grows within the party.

Politico reported that some in the party are now talking about treating him like former President Jimmy Carter, who was challenged in a primary in 1980.

“No one now in office — and none of the top-tier presidential contenders from 2020 — is viewed as a serious prospect to take on Biden. Nor is there any expectation that Sanders or Sen. Elizabeth Warren, both of whom have enjoyed a significant amount of influence in the Biden administration, would primary Biden,” the report said. “Instead, liberals believe lesser-known candidates are more likely to primary Biden if he seeks a second term, such as former Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner, 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson or millionaire and $18-an-hour minimum wage advocate Joe Sanberg.”

Jeff Weaver, the former presidential campaign manager for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), said, “Will there be a progressive challenger? Yes.”

Weaver said that a Democrat primary of Biden would not be a “repudiation” of his policies but instead would effectively be a push to go even further left.

“He’s deeply unpopular. He’s old as s***. He’s largely been ineffective, unless we’re counting judges or whatever the hell inside-baseball scorecard we’re using. And I think he’ll probably get demolished in the midterms,” said Corbin Trent, co-founder of a far-left political action committee and the former communications director for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). “People will smell opportunity, and D.C. is filled with people who want to be president.”

The report comes as Biden, who is 79 years old, faces a litany of challenges heading into his second year in office, none bigger than ending the coronavirus pandemic.

More Americans have now died from the coronavirus under Biden’s leadership than died under former President Donald Trump, according to CDC data published a few weeks ago.

The development comes as Biden’s approval rating continues to remain low as more and more Americans are disapproving of his handling of the pandemic than at any other point during his first year in office.

Biden’s disastrous handling of the coronavirus pandemic is even worse when considering the fact that he had highly effective vaccines at his disposal from his very first day in office to get the pandemic under control.

Biden repeatedly promised while on the campaign trail that he was going to “shut down the virus,” and while it’s true that new variants have emerged, the fact remains that he has not “shut down the virus,” and more Americans have now died under his leadership than under Trump.

Biden claimed during the 2020 campaign that Trump was essentially responsible for every American that died during the pandemic, a claim that was quickly debunked by mainstream fact-checkers.

“If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive,” Biden falsely claimed. “All the people—I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data.”
