Democrats aren’t running hearings — they’re filming TikToks: Joe Concha
Joe Concha, a Washington Examiner columnist, criticized Democrats for choosing confrontational, attention-grabbing political theater over solving policy problems. On Fox & Friends First, he argued that Democratic leaders at a heated House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing instead tried to generate viral clips-such as sarah Jacobs’ clash with secretary of State Marco Rubio over Rubio’s remarks on President Trump and the Iran war-rather than pursuing the substance of the issues.Concha also claimed these moments are often driven by fundraising goals, pointing to a similar incident involving another outburst at a Homeland Security hearing. He further lamented that Democrats focused on arguing during hearings while overshadowing major news, including Markwayne Mullin’s proclamation that a primary border wall project will be completed by June 2027, which Concha said deserves more coverage than the “clips” and spectacle.
Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha slammed Democrats for spending more time bashing Republicans than working to solve problems.
“They look like children,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First on Thursday.

Concha said that Democrats have no interest in getting to the truth, but rather “simply draw attention to themselves.”
A Capitol Hill hearing on Wednesday got heated when Democratic leaders clashed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Rep. Sarah Jacobs (D-CA), a Democratic congresswoman from California, called out Rubio for not admitting that President Donald Trump is losing the Iran war, “just like you couldn’t admit that the shoes the president bought you were too big.”
“We’re talking about shoes, are you guys kidding me? Is this the Foreign Affairs Committee, or is this like a circus?” Rubio said.
“These hearings are the biggest waste of time in politics in the social media area,” Concha said.
Concha said Democrats use these hearings to create viral moments for themselves.
“Democrats come into these hearings in an attempt to make clips of themselves yelling at somebody like Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, with prewritten notes. You notice how they’re always looking down? Reading something probably written by their staffers so they can take those clips and put it up on TikTok,” Concha said.
Concha said the attention Democrats get from these hearings is simply an attempt to fundraise. He noted the same thing happened on Wednesday to Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, when, in an outburst, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) called Mullin a racist and told him to shut up.
Concha criticized Democrats for pulling the attention away from an otherwise big announcement from Mullin: The primary border wall, stretching from the Pacific to the Gulf of America, will be completed by June 2027.

“That should be a very, very big story that the wall would be finished in that fashion, and all we’re seeing is clips,” Concha said.
“This is just one big show at this point.”
