Democrats are more skeptical about President Joe Biden than Republicans are about former President Donald Trump, according to a new poll.

An NBC News poll found significant concerns among Democrats about Biden, with only 54% saying that “none” of the president’s vulnerabilities were most convincing, compared to 72% of Republicans feeling the same about Trump. Additionally, 42% of Democrats said there was a convincing reason to vote against Biden, compared to just 25% of Republicans with Trump.

Perhaps even more concerning for the president is the perception among all registered voters, who ranked Biden’s vulnerabilities higher than Trump’s. When asked the most compelling reason to oppose Biden, 23% of voters said it was the idea that he “may not have the necessary mental and physical health to be president for a second term.”

The most compelling against Trump, that he is “facing four different criminal and civil trials for alleged wrongdoing, including multiple felony charges related to attempts to overturn the 2020 election,” was slightly lower, at 20% of voters.

However, Biden’s next two most convincing arguments against him, his handling of the border and inflation, earned 17% and 16% of voters, respectively. Another 15% said that “all of these” reasons were the most compelling.

In contrast, the two next most convincing arguments against Trump, his role in appointing Supreme Court justices and his plan to pardon Jan. 6 riot participants, earned only 14% and 8% of voters, respectively.
