Democrats Admit Trump Indictment Is Purely Political By Fundraising Off It

Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign reportedly received over $5 million in donations, twenty-five percent coming from new donors within 48 hours of the Manhattan grand jury’s decision to indict him on a felony charge. While several corporate media outlets criticized Trump for his “cash grab,” Senate, House, and state Democrats, who have been working to build a case against Trump for years, also raised funds after the news broke. However, some corporate media outlets controversially noted that the Democrats’ actions were “opportunistic.”

Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, now a Biden administration ally, warned Democrats to avoid publicly celebrating the development. She added that it makes no sense for non-presidential Democratic candidates to solicit donations over the indictment unless it is a case of political persecution, as Trump claims in his fundraising flyers and Facebook advertisements.

Here are the Democrats who are accused of fundraising for political gain after Trump’s indictment:

Adam Schiff

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, who spent years trying to take down Trump and was barred from the House Intelligence Committee he once chaired, requested campaign donations for his recently launched Senate campaign following Trump’s indictment. Schiff wrote, “It is a somber moment, and unprecedented for a former president to be indicted, but his alleged offenses are also unprecedented,” adding, “those with wealth and power must be held to account for the rule of law to truly matter.”

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee encouraged donors to take action against Trump’s influence by donating to the committee to protect the party’s majority in the Senate. The committee sent an email asking if Trump was “UNFIT” for office with a suggested donation amount.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee requested campaign donations to help the party defeat Trump’s “extremist loyalists” in the House following his indictment.

Senate Majority PAC

The Senate Majority PAC encouraged donors to help defend the Senate by donating $10 (becomes $60) and not relenting despite Trump’s indictment and possible arrest.

Oklahoma Democratic Party

The Oklahoma Democratic Party celebrated Trump’s indictment and used it as an excuse to solicit donations, saying they “cannot let this opportunity pass us by.” Eric Proctor, the ODP Vice Chair, added that donors can help elect Democrats who will “stand up for justice and equality” and assist in the fight against Trump and his loyalists at all levels of government.

It is evident that Democrats want Trump gone and will seize every opportunity to celebrate his downfall. However, their willingness to fundraise off Trump’s recent indictment could give the impression of using the legal action for political gain, strengthening Trump’s cries of persecution.
