Democrat accuses party members of bribery to oust her.

Georgia Democrat Calls Out Party for Prioritizing Illegal Immigrants Over Black Children

State Rep. Mesha Mainor Speaks Out

Georgia State Rep. Mesha Mainor, a Democrat, has criticized her own party for prioritizing the needs of illegal immigrants over those of black children. Mainor tweeted that the Democrat Party Establishment is looking to remove her from her position for her views.

Mainor was the only Democrat to vote in favor of Georgia Senate Bill 233, a pro-school choice bill pushed for by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. The bill would have provided vouchers of up to $6,500 per student to attend a school in the state’s bottom 25% in performance, which could be used for private school tuition or home school expenses.

Mainor supports parent choice, stating that some parents have children in schools where their needs are not being met. She believes that all parents should have the right to choose the best education for their children, regardless of their income or zip code.

Mainor has accused the Democratic Party of offering checks to anyone who would run against her in future elections, which could be considered a form of bribery. Despite this, she remains committed to fighting for the people of her district and voting for the best interests of her community over party politics.

Mainor’s Voting Record

  • Mainor has voted with Republicans on several occasions, including in favor of a special needs voucher, a ban on the lowering of police budgets, and for a new prosecutorial oversight committee.
  • Democratic State Sen. Josh McLaurin has stated that many members of the party know that Mainor is more aligned with Republicans than Democrats on a range of issues, but are hesitant to make this public.

Mainor has vowed to continue fighting for her community and is not backing down.
