Democrat’s Comment on Immigration Policy Backfires

A prominent Democrat, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, recently criticized Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new policy preventing companies from hiring illegal immigrants. However, her comment immediately backfired.
During an interview with MSNBC, Schultz claimed that without illegal immigrants working, Florida’s economy would tank and sensationally stated that “you’re going to have vegetables rotting in the fields” as a result of DeSantis’ policies.

Her comment caused a backlash on Twitter, with many pointing out that this is just par for the course for Democrats, who often justify illegal immigration on the grounds that they perform most of the country’s manual labor.

Many people compared Schultz’s comment to those of Kelly Osbourne, then-co-host of “The View,” who asked Donald Trump regarding immigration “Who is going to be cleaning your toilet?”

It’s important to note that there are many Americans who are looking for work and would gladly take manual labor roles. The left’s argument that immigrants are only good for lowly manual labor is flawed and exploitative.
Furthermore, Schultz’s argument is similar to the one made by the Confederacy to justify the continuation of slavery. It’s concerning that she sees immigrants as a cheap source of labor that can be exploited to easily fill job openings.
The left claims to care about immigrants, but in reality, they are just interested in exploiting them for their own benefit at the expense of the American people. Schultz’s comment only reinforces this mindset and people are right to call her out on it.
