Democrat Mocks Korean American GOP Congresswoman’s Accent

For a political party that prides itself as the champions of diversity and tolerance, Democrats were quite rude and prejudiced when it came to the first Korean American woman elected to Congress. This has been the case for Republican Rep. Michelle Steel of California. Her Democratic opponent has criticized her accent and implied she doesn’t know any politics without her husband’s input.

The insults were made by a Democratic candidate Jay Chen. Chen was caught on tape at a meet-and-greet political event.

“Yeah, so she just had another town hall the other day. And, umm, it’s tough. Like, we’ve transcribed it. You kind of need an interpreter to figure out exactly what she’s saying,” Chen said mockingly. “The more she speaks, the better for us.”

Such comments would not be tolerated if Steel was not a Republican, of course. But since she is, such bigotry is permitted. If Democrats didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

“America is a country built on immigrants,” a Steel spokesperson said to Fox News. “Michelle Steel is a first-generation Korean American who speaks English as her third language, and these despicable, racist comments from Jay Chen have absolutely no place in our community. Chen owes everyone an explanation, particularly following recent reports he continues backing the Chinese Communist Party’s Confucius Institutes in our educational system.”

Chen also previously made misogynistic comments about Steel. In addition to criticizing the way she speaks, he inferred that Steel is nothing more than a puppet who does her husband’s political bidding while in office.

“All she does is rely on Republican talking points fed [to her] by her husband,” Chen said.

It seems like this is happening more and more with Democrats. They constantly like to point out racism and bigotry in the country but typically remain silent when it is one of their own committing these sins.

Sooner or later, people must become aware of the fact that Democrats do not care about racism or offending anyone. They are only interested in being opportunists and weaponizing situations to attempt to sway public opinion. Chen is the latest disgusting example of this hypocrisy.
