Daughter Accused of Killing Mother Had Restraining Order Filed Against Her 8 Years Prior
SANTA ANA, Calif.—A 32-year-old Lake Forest woman was charged March 3 with stabbing her mother to death in her home.
Courtney Elizabeth Baker was charged for murder and sentencing enhancements were added to the sentence for personal use of deadly weapons. According to criminal complaint, the deadly weapon used in the attack was a screwdriver as well as a fork.
Baker didn’t enter a plea in Friday’s jail courtroom during her arraignment. The hearing was moved to March 17, at the Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.
According to Carrie Braun, spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the victim’s spouse called the authorities at the 22000 block Bellcroft Drive around 1:50 AM March 1.
Braun reported that the victim aged 72 was declared dead upon arrival at the scene. Baker’s mother was Elizabeth Mary O’Leary.
